I just got a gpu from a friend yesterday and I want to replace my existing gpu with it. My old gpu is an AMD Radeon HD 6800 series going to an msi geforce gtx 650 ti boost. Now I Uninstalled all the AMD drivers, shut down the computer, swapped the gpus and started back up the computer and now video with come through the gpu. Only the on board gpu. So I went to msi's website and manual downloaded the drivers. Well the installer can't recognize my gpu. I went to the device manager to see if my computer saw it and nothing is there. I need help as I have no idea what to do. Thanks in advanced.
Sorry for the bad post quality, I had to make this on my phone.

There is only 1 6 pin connector and I have it in. What do you mean there is a compatability issue? Wouldn't it still recognize it?

well, some gpus wont work w/ some cpus
so you can tell me specs and i will find u a sol.

I have:
CPU: Intel i5 3.1 quad core
GPU new: MSI Geforce GTX 650 ti boost (Twinfoce or something like that)
Mobo: MSI PH61A-P35 (B3)

try get me the model of the cpu and how much psu watts you got ?

Oh sorry forgot the 2400 in i5-2400 cpu and my psu is 620w
So I have:
PSU: 620w Modular
CPU: Intel i5-2400 3.1 quad core
GPU new: MSI Geforce GTX 650 ti boost (Twinfoce or something like that)
Mobo: MSI PH61A-P35 (B3)

compatibility stuff are fine
i recommend taking out the gpu from mobo and psu and reconnecting everything again correctly then goto this website http://www.geforce.com/drivers and select the gpu and the correct OS and data size EXAMPLE (windows 8 64 bit) thats really important to do then uninstall the old driver and install the new one , if nothing happened then your friend is selling you a stepped on sh#t, in this case you need to either return it or take your pc to a repairing shop

Well what if i did all that already? I also want to say that the fan runs.

ohh ok, then you need to goto a repairing shop but first plz download the gpu driver from nvidia site i linked you

ok, I already downloaded the drivers but I can't install them.

Ok, well I cant do that because the drivers won't install unless the computer can detect the GPU. When I go to install the drivers it says "NVIDIA Installer cannot continue. This graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware." Happens everytime.

ok take this pc to a repairing shop

Ends up that the gpu is broken. I figured, just didn't want to accept it. I tested it by putting it in my brothers computer and it did the same thing.
