Computer won't recognize my graphics card

So I just got a brand new gtx 1050 ti. I pluged it in and installed the driver but when I go into MS I afterburner it says standard VGA adapter I've tried reinstallings the drivers uninstalled the VGA drivers and disable the VGA nothing works my specs are
Fx-6350
Mobo 970a Gigabyte
8ga ram
Gtx 1050 ti
Windows 7 64bit
Please help this really sucks

Do you have a motherboard bios that uses secure boot? Sometimes motherboards will not allow basic changes to be made if secure boot is on. You would need to enter your bios and disable it temporarily so you can install the card.

BTW I tried my old gt 610 and it worked fine
