I am a computer novice, so bear with me.

I have an Asus motherboard (M4A7875TF V EVO). AMD Phenom II Black edition, 955, 3200 Mhz.

I currently have 4 gigs of memory: 2 Corsair CMX4GX3MA1600C9 1600 Mhz 4 GB (2x2GB) 9-9-9-24 1.65 Ver 2.3 09510563 sticks.

I purchased and installed more memory in the remaining 2 open slots: 2 Corsair TR3C6G1600C8D 6GB (3x2GB) 2048GB 1600 Mhz 8-8-8-24 1.65 ver 3.2 0910022 memory sticks.

Now the computer wont restart (reboot?). The computer light turns on, but nothing proceeds further.

What did I do wrong? Can anyone help? Please remember I am new.

Solution
Your mixing DRAM which is not recommended, it can be problematic even with the same exact models of DRAM, your also mixing sticks that are made to run at different timings, 1600 sticks that call for 1.65, not to mention trying to run 4 1600 sticks with a 955....this should be fun... 😉 Think I'd suggest taking the new sticks in slots 1-3 and try booting, if Ok, then in the BIOS raise the CPU/NB voltage to 1.25, set the freq to 1333, and the Base DRAM timings to 9-9-9-24, DRAM voltage to 1.65
Remove the 2 new sticks, leaving the original. Does the pc boot?

Re-check with your motherboard's manual about memory configuration for the 4 slots.

Do you have a BIOS overclock set up? these are generally affected when you add more memory.

Check with Corsair's website about compatible sticks for your motherboard.
