I received some new components for the holidays but hadn't had the chance to install them until now. They are an i7-5820K, ASRock X99 Extreme4 ATX LGA2011-3, and some ram. I powered down my computer, unplugged everything, replaced my old components with the new ones, and powered it back up.
The LEDs and all fans turned on, but my monitors and mouse/keyboard wouldn't. Powered it back down, double checked all of the power connections, cleaned for any dust, and turned it back on. Same problem.
I took out/apart everything, cleaned all the bits, and then put them back together in the case. Tried to power it back on, but nothing happened at all, no LEDs, no fans, nada. Checked all the connections and tried to power it up and still no response.
I use my computer for work and had projects that needed to be completed, so I took out everything again and replaced it with my old components and tried to power it back up. It turned on without a hitch.
I'm not the most computer savvy, so I'm kind of at a loss at how to progress from here. Everything was seated properly, as far as I could tell, and plugged in correctly. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
