Hello,
I have a homemade system, Shuttle sp35 with an Intel Core Quad 2 CPU Q8300 a Nvidia GeForce 9500 GT graphics card running Windows 7 32bit.
I few days ago I swapped out a case fan inside of it because of noise and cleaned all the dog hair out from inside the box, really gross.
Anyway, since I have done so the computer won't wake from S3 sleep after a prolonged period of time, an hour or two I think. When I try to wake it up the fan turns on, super high, however nothing works, keyboard is dead, none of the lights come on on it, and it will just stay like that. I have to shut it down and then when I turn it back on it resumes windows.
Does anyone know what I could have messed up? Or any possible fixes, and if a reinstall of windows is necessary would there be any reason to install 64 bit instead of 32 bit?
Thank You for any help
Chuck

Did you check all wiring cables? Are all plugs seated firmly in thier sockets? How did you clean the inside did you use anything electric inside the case to clean/dust?

I just used a can of compressed air to clean it out. I've checked all the cables and nothing. However, I did figure out that if I disable hybidsleep it works fine. Not sure why but I guess its a solution for now.

What type of mobo is it and what type of socket, AMD or Intel? I have heard of that happening with some mobo's. When it is the mobo people either deal with it or they RMA it for a new board. Or you can do as you said and turn off sleep and it won't matter anyway. I personally don't like sleep mode and it one of the first things I turn off when I get a new computer. To me its just easier to log in and out when I leave my computer. Screw all that power saving bs.
