Hi guys, I really need help to fix a computer that means way too much to me at this time. It's caused allot of stress lately and after changing power supply twice and after taking my machine to a repair person, it still won't work properly.
Roughly a year this month I built a PC:
Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3 mother board
Corsair Vengence 2x4 DDR3 1600 RAM
Seagate 250 GIG HDD (used)
Western Digital 1TB HDD
1GB Zotac GT 430 Zone edition GPU (used)
Samsung DVD drive
5 system fans
Cooler Master elite case
500 Watt Cooler Master Power supply
AMD Phenom II X4 965 (black edition I think with stock cooler)
HPw2207h monitor
All connected to Forza NT-501 UPS 250W
What I can remember is it all started when my foot touched one of the cords used to setup the computer and it immediately shut down. That was roughly over a month ago, now i've been experiencing some weird issues. Currently when I try powering it up, the power light and fans power up for a few seconds then they all shut down.
I have since bought two power supplies, a 600W which worked for one day and a 700W which worked for a few minutes so I now have the 500 Watt Cooler Master power supply installed. Just over a week ago I brought the system to a computer repairs shop and incredibly it powered up and worked, I even played Battlefield just to try it out.
So now I think it might be a power issue related to the Forza UPS so when I got home I connected directly to an outlet and amazingly it worked for a day or two then I decided to plug it back into the UPS and it worked for a few days then it started having problems again. This time it would power up for ten seconds to a minute then power off.
For a few days I tried connecting to the outlet witout using the UPS and it haven't worked since. I once connected it back to the UPS and it worked all day then when I shut it down and tried powering it up during the night it didn't work.
Today I brought it next door and it worked, brought it back home and it worked. I went away for a few hours and when I came home, the problem started again.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
