Yes. Intel marks engineering samples (pre-release testing versions of CPUs) as CONFIDENTIAL and puts the letters "ES" next to a four-letter string starting with a "Q," such as the example seen here. Some CPUs sold to large OEMs have similar markings but are not actually engineering samples, or so I was once told.
