Hi,

I need some help in figuring out what my ISP Modem/Router is trying to tell me. I am trying to change the NAT Connection from Strict to Open so that my my connection would be better at gaming. I have googled everything I could about changing my NAT Type and even tried Port Forwarding as shown on Youtube Videos. The thing is, I am not sure which type of Port Forwarding or if I am using the correct options on my router.

Modem/Router: Ultera OT-350 or Ultera WN-1200 (Not sure since my ISP is incompetent.) - I directly connect the canopy to the router then to my PC.

PC Specifications:
Motherboard: MSI X470 Gaming Pro Carbon
Power Supply: Seasonic Focus 750W Platinum
Operating System: Windows 10

ISP: PLDT HomeBro Ultera Wireless Unlimited
# of devices connected: 2 Personal Computers, 1 Smart Phone
No errors are shown it is just that my NAT Type in Call of Duty is showing as Strict even after applying the fixes shown below:

<a href="https://ibb.co/BG9qPPG"><img src="https://i.ibb.co/tz98hhz/Admin-2.jpg" alt="Admin-2" border="0"></a>

Did I do the supposed Port Forwarding correctly?

Solution
Best first choice is to use a DMZ option if your router supports it. DMZ tends to be easier to configure than port forwarding on some routers. It is not a long term solution but it will let you know if it is just a port forwarding config issue rather than something else.

A very common cause of this is that you do not have a public IP address. There should be some screen in your router that shows the IP address assigned to the wan port of your router. Compare that with a site like whatsmyip. If the ip addresses are not the same it is highly likely you have a private ip assigned to your router and port forwarding will never work. You need to check with your ISP if they can give you a public IP.

Thanks for the reply. Does this commonly come with a price for getting a public IP?
