Can a QNAP NAS with 5 each 4TB hard drives in a raid 6 configuration be formatted as one logical drive or several logical drives and which is a more common configuration? Thanks in advance for any help you have to offer.

Solution
depends on which QNap you have as the raid is software raid and the parity calculations would all need to be done by the cpu.
Most common configuration , imo, is raid10.but this wastes lots of space in favor or higher performance & much shorter rebuild times.

Which particular Qnap?
I have a TS-453A. 4 drives. 3TB each.

Currently, it is in a RAID 5, resulting in ~8TB usable space. I have it as one single volume, but it could be several, if I chose.
It would do RAID 6 if I wanted.
