Evening everyone,

I've got a Corsair 5000D Airflow case with currently 6 intake fans on the front (3x120mm front, 3x120mm side) and 1x120mm on the back.

I did have an AIO 360 on top but the pump failed and I'm replacing it with a DeepCool AK620. I was wondering if I should install some top exhaust fans? I'm still pretty ignorant about PC builds and worried having exhaust fans near the CPU cooler would take air away from it and cause it to be less efficient, but also having 6 intakes and 1 exhaust seems silly.

Thanks for any help.

I agree you should add some top exhaust fans to replace the exhaust capacity of the rad you removed. There is lots of space in that case so the top fans will not rob much air flow from the new CPU cooler.

However, install only TWO top exhaust fans at the rear and middle positions. If you install one at top front, it will simply short-circuit the air coming in from the front panel and side panel top fans so their contribution is reduced. This will not create completely balanced intake versus exhaust fan flow capacity, but it will improve it a lot over the simple 1-exhuast-fan scenario.

Thank you for the reply!

I agree with what you are saying and was the assumption I had about have exhaust fans up front. So for now I'm going to go with 1 on the very rear and maybe looking into getting a second one and test at another date.
