I'm looking to buy a Hp Envy 15-K030TX, http://support.hp.com/gb-en/document/c04353992, this one. Now the problem is that I would probably be playing some heavy games like GTA V etc. on that laptop and this model only has 256GB MSATA SDD and no HDD. So I really don't think that 256GB would be enough for me.

I also have a WD 1TB external HDD, I want to ask would there be any problems and/or framerate drops if the game is stored on the external HDD.

If yes then would it be a good idea to replace the SSD with a 1/2TB HDD, if yes, then how to do that? I mean I'm no expert to the recovery stuff.

Last of all, I've heard so much good about SSDs that I want to experience that, but higher capacity SSDs are not affordable for me. So is there a way to put a 120GB SSD along with a 1TB HDD in hyrbid in HP Envy 15? If yes then how?

P.S. This would be my primary computer, used for some gaming and movie watching etc.

P.P.S. Please don't recommend any other laptop with HDD as I'm getting this one for a cheap price from a friend.

Thank you!

It wouldn't be a problem, most likely. The only "problems" you would see is a large increase in loading times. This may affect your performance in GTA V, because it has a very large map. I would recommend you store your big games on the SSD, like GTA and Skyrim, while putting everything else on the external hard drive. This is because all of the data is going through USB, which is very slow compared to MSATA and SATA.

If you wanted to replace the SSD with a 500GB HDD, then you would need to get a compatible HDD, like this one
