Hi,

I am trying to convert a series of PDFs into excel documents. The PDF can be viewed just fine in Adobe Acrobat Pro. When I convert to Excel all the text appears as short lines. I have attached a link to view the image. image)
This is similar to the issue outlined in this post Adobe forum
When I looked in the document properties to see if the font can be added to system fonts it only says,

"CIDFont+F1 (Embedded)
Type: TrueType (CID)
Encoding: Identity-H

CIDFont+F2 (Embedded)
Type: TrueType (CID)
Encoding: Identity-H"

Not sure about what all has been attempted.

Note (full disclosure): I did not download the linked image.

My thought is that Excel is simply not correctly set up or otherwise configured to import the desired/target pdf table.

Do a Google search using "Excel import pdf table" limiting the search to the last 1 year or so.

Then, if and as necessary, revise the search criteria as you read and learn.

Use a copy of the original .pdf file and work with the Excel import options to determine if the import can be successful.

Once the import is in the correct/required Excel table format then you can reconfigure the font settings as required.

I was thinking in terms of:

After reading back I noted "trying to convert a series of PDFs into excel documents".

Are you able to provide any more information or details about the requirements.

Maybe a couple of screenshots showing the source documents (be sure to redact any personnally identifying information).

Screenshots can be posted here via imgur (www.imgur.com > green "New post" icon.

The PDF is created from an invoicing software which usually exports them with arial as the font. Unfortunately, imgur is blocked on the work network. I think maybe they were originally created wrong I am getting the end user to try recreating them. I have asked the user to try the other way, its just faster to use the export to PDF function from within Adobe Acrobat Pro

Fonts are cosmetic. As I understand the requirements, you simply need the invoice data in a format that can be imported into Excel.

Are you able/allowed to identify the invoicing software?

Hopefully the invoicing software supports exporting data in other formats such as .csv, .xls_, or even .txt.

The data may be exportable directly via the host tables (database ?) versus using the invoice/report format itself.

And thus should be directly importable to Excel and other applications as well.

It may indeed be faster to export via PDF.

However, "faster" is moot if the resulting export (in any format) cannot be imported to where the data is needed.
