Today I needed a branching SATA power extension cable. Fry's said they had it, then said they could not find it. I placed an order with Newegg. I think it went through. It is shown as shipped in "My Account."
When I thought I'd completed the order, I had a 'process' running in a new tab with this URL:
https://secure.newegg.com/Shopping/CheckoutStep3.aspx?CartID= and some numbers I've redacted for security.
There was a second URL
http://secure.newegg.com/Shopping/ShoppingCart.aspx?submit=ChangeItem
which invited me to proceed to secure checkout.
I gave up and closed the tabs/windows.
Is it always as confusing as this to place a simple order with Newegg?
I tried their chat option but never connected. I tried their email option but encountered "Forbidden" responses when I tried to refine my reason for writing.
As a last resort I'm asking here, is it sometimes simple and straightforward to place an order with Newegg for a simple item like a cable that can't be had locally?
