First off, which version of HDMI is on the back of the 780? I think it's most likely 1.4
Do I need an HDMI 2.0 cable for 4K resolution or can I keep using my existing cables
If I plug an HDMI 1.4 cable into an HDMI 2 port, what'll happen? What if I plug an HDMI 2.0 cable into a 1.4 port? How will the 360 and PS4 handle this? The 360 won't support 4K in any way, I know that.
I know my GTX 780 won't push 4K gaming at high frame rates. I'm thinking I'll do 1440p or 1080p upscaled for games and run everything else at 4K like (IIRC) some of the consoles do until I get a 1080 or something.
I found out what was causing my integrated graphics issues yesterday, thanks to my PS4 also having issues with my TV. My 1080p TV is not working correctly. It won't accept integrated graphics from my PC, my 360 can't determine what my TV can do so it gives out 480p with no sound and my PS4 gives out no sound on it and says none of the resolutions are supported (it still outputs 1080p). They all (haven't tested the 360, but it probably still works) work on the TV downstairs just fine so I need to change out my own. I don't want to do a stop-gap solution of getting a 1440p monitor and then upgrading later to 4K as I'd spend more
