Question Connect Apple 27" Monitor to PC (AMD)

Hi

I want to connect an old 27" Thunderbolt Apple Monitor to my AMD PC with a GTA 1060 6GB (full specs see signature). (a friend has offered to give it to me for free)

Is it possible to do so?

If so, is this the card that I will need to make this work (or am I completely wrong..)? https://wccftech.com/asus-introduces-thunderboltex-4-add-on-card/

And is there maybe a more affordable alternative?

oh wow..

so unless I'm prepared to change my motherboard, cpu, and RAM.. essentially build a new machine, that's a no!

really didn't expect this to be so difficult! pretty shocked.


Out of curiosity, would a system with Thunderbolt ports (like one of many new laptops out there) work?

laptop with thunderbolt should work with that monitor

and be sure it is thunderbolt and not just usb-c gen 2
