Connect laptop and PC to one pair of speakers physically or stream from one device?

Hi

I generally listening to music (mp3s and internet radio) from my laptop whilst playing games on my PC but the laptop speakers are obviously poor and I do not wish to clutter my desk up with another set of speakers.

So, I was wondering if it's possible to connect my pair of speakers (Logitech Z333) to both my laptop and PC without any loss of sound quality, do I need to buy an audio splitter cable for example but will that reduce the sound quality?

Or would it be easier to stream music from my laptop to my PC over a network instead, what software do I need?
