HI,

I would like to Connect one open headphone (598se ), one closed head phone (ATH-m50x) and one 2.0 speaker system (kanto yu2) to my Desktop and be able to switch among them for different activities (598se for games, yu2 for movies etc ) without the need to plug/unplug them each time.

currently im able to switch between any of the 2 (598se connected on front green and kanto yu2 connected on back green of motherboard).

How can i add the 3rd audio device (ATH-m50x) to my setup and be able to switch to it when needed?

i did contact few soundcard vendors like CreativeLabs and their sound card is supporting only 2 audio devices.

Motherboard: ASUS H170 - PRO
No Sound card added.

Solution

Adding a sound card will add extra outputs. The ones you have on the motherboard will still continue to work as they currently do.
Your apps should list the new sound card as an audio device in addition to the existing ones.
The hyperx cloud II is a usb device and doesn't go through your sound card, so you should be okay.

on their site: "Advanced USB audio control box with *built-in digital signal processing (DSP) sound card* amplifies your audio and voice. Available on Cloud II."

HI,

mine is not cloud 2. its cloud 1. Anyways, ill be getting ATH-m50x to replace my clouds. so, there are still 3 x 3.5 mm devices. i have updated the OP

Thanks jason. I added an external USB DAC (Fiio e10k ) and its showing as an additional sound source. Now, im able to switch between all of them without the need to plug/unplug
