[SOLVED] Connect PC to digital speakers ?

Hi,

I have a set of speakers that I was connecting to my PC using an SPDIF or optical cable which worked great. Just changed my motherboard and it doesn't have an SPDIF audio port, only the regular 3.5mm audio out.

My question is would a DAC such as the one below work ? This seems to take an optical source or input and convert to analogue but I'm really wanting to do this the opposite way round. Analogue out of the PC, digital into the speakers ?

That one converts digital to analog, you need the other way around.
