Connecting 3 monitors to AMD HD 7700

Hi,

I currently use a AMD HD 7700 graphics card attached to 2 monitors with inputs; 1 x HDMI (in use), 1 x DVI (in use), + 1 x DisplayPort. However I'd now like to add a third, but when I do to the DisplayPort it is not recognized.

Why is this? Maybe I should buy another graphics card? But if I do this can I use them at the same time even if they're different?

I would like all three monitors to be extensions and not mirror one another.

How are you connecting the third monitor? Through a DP cable?

Also, did you try setting up Eyefinity? (Friggin' Tom's won't let me edit my post.)

You need the ACTIVE adapter in order to activate the third screen, and it maybe the AMD Eyefinity Certified too.

I can't remember now, it was a while ago. I think it was using a DisplayPort to VGA or DVI adapter cable.

That adapter needs to be active, and if you want to be 100% sure it will work, consult AMD's list of adapters certified for Eyefinity, like cin19 said.
