Hello i was wondering if this cable from amazon http://www.amazon.com/Mediabridge-Cat5e-Ethernet-Patch-Cable/dp/B003O973OA?ie=UTF8&keywords=ethernet%20cable&qid=1459248904&ref_=sr_1_6&sr=8-6 its the Cat5e Ethernet Patch Cable is able to Connect to my Comcast Modem (the black gateway thing that comcast gives you) and then connect to my Desktop and deliver internet to it. I dont have a wifi card on my Motherboard so i have no way of getting WiFi on my desktop so im hoping this ethernet will help give my Desktop WiFi Connection thanks for the answers in advance

Solution
It is usually not recommended to directly connect a PC to the modem because it makes it much easier for your PC to be attacked from the internet. Even if your PC is not using WIFI a router between the modem and PC is recommended.

The cable you linked to would be fine for the connection, but I recommend making it to a router rather than the modem.

It will give you ethernet requiring a cable from the modem to the pc, not wifi, as you described. Connecting the modem to a wifi router via Cat5e cable, you can then use a USB wifi stick that you can get for $10-15 plug it into a usb port on the pc and have working wifi, the protection level a router offers and no ethernet cable needs to be run to your pc.
