Hi Everybody I have a pretty simple question,

I bought this Graphics Card:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127832&nm_mc=KNC-MSNSearch&cm_mmc=KNC-MSNSearch-_-pla-_-Video+Card+-+Nvidia-_-14127832

and I have an Acer monitor.

Now the monitor has a VGA, DVI-D, and HDMI port in the back and I have all the cords.

My question is, Would I plug in the hdmi cord and DVI-D cord directly to the graphics card as it also has a DVI-D and HDMI port and then just connect the VGA to the motherboard port? Or do I connect them all to the motherboard ports and none to the graphics card?

What cords go where is basically my question.

Right now I have the DVI-D and HDMI running from my monitor directly to the graphics card and then the VGA directly to the motherboard from the monitor.

Thank you for your time

You will only need one of those connections. I would advise to use either the HDMI or the DVI plug - (VGA isn't as good). You can disconnect the rest. Simply run the DVI-D or HDMI from the monitor to the graphics card.

Hello... 1) You also have to set the monitor for the input... push the buttons on monitor for the setup menu.
2) HDMI cable will carry sound to your monitor if you want it... DVI and VGA will not.
3) HDMI and DVI is a Digital signal and will will give you your best picture.
