Connecting hp laserjet 6p using usb cable

I have a laserjet 6p printer and am trying to use a usb cable to connect to my vista machine

buy a gender bender. these printer are parallel only.
good to see the work horse still chugging away. these are a reliable printer.
remember that when you print cardstock or other stiff paper, you can open the rear flap to prevent undue pressure on the tiny springs that propel the paper to the top output.
