Hey,

I recently changed my setup and now I want to connect my PC to my TV. I have a GTS 250, with 2 DVI ports. I have connected an adapter from DVI to HDMI, so I could connect my PC via a HDMI cabel, but audio won't transfer over that cable. Therefor, I have also bought a RCA cable. 1 Cable Male to Male, and another cable Female to Y Male (All are 3.5 M Jacks). My TV is the "LE26A336J1D", which has a port for Sound if you use HDMI port 2. I have in windows the right audio device selected, I have disabled the sound to go through the DVI in the Nvidia Control pannel and I have put the TV to recognize the HDMI 2 as my PC. What am I doing wrong or missing?

Thanks in advance,

Kev

Presumably your TV has a pair of RCA ports for audio in-usually red and white ? You need a Y cable to go from the 3.5mm socket of your PC audio card to a pair of RCA plugs at the TV end.

I stand corrected. Looking at the user manual this TV has 1) audio in for the PC input channel (when video is supplied on VGA) or 2) audio in for the AV input channel (when video is supplied on RCA).

Not ideal- using either of these two inputs will be a far lower quality picture than HDMI/DVI.

Hey Chris,

Thanks for the help so far. You are indeed correct, I have the VGA with one audio slot, The AV slot with the red/white/Yellow, but I also have the HDMI 2 input with next to it the DVI input for a RCA Y (male) Cable. I currently a HDMI + RCA cable plugged in, in those slots coming from my PC.

Indeed as you said the AVG will lower the quality, for this reason I don't want to pick this one.

I did wonder about the HDMI 2 as the manual is confused:

DVI IN(HDMI2) [R-AUDIO-L]
- DVI audio outputs for external devices

On one line this suggests that its an input, one the next line its an output. I suppose its simple enough- try it with HDMI2 and it'll either work straight away or no. Based on your problem to date I guess that its a 'no', and your TV just doesnt have this capability.

Thanks again for Help Chris,

It is indeed an input, I just found out. The VideoCard keeps on sending a fake dummy sound over the HDMI cable to the Tv.
The TV then disables the 2 jack inputs and uses the fake sound from the HDMI. I have manually added a line in the register to disable this fake sound over the HDMI and now it is working, surprisingly.

Thanks
