Connecting new GPU with old Monitor

Hello,
I purchased new Gpu which is Zotac gtx 1060 mini having 1 x dvi-d port, 1 x hdmi port and 3 x display port but my monitor (Acer AL 1916W) has only 1 x vga port so how should i connect them? I tried dvi-d male to vga female converter(adapter) but there was no display. So please help me.

Get a Display Port to VGA connector. For VGA to use with DVI you need DVI-I , D won't work since it's a digital signal.

I think you need VGA male to connect to monitor correct me if I'm wrong.
