Question connecting piezo contact microphone to laptop mic input

hi,
this may be a very easy question to answer.

I refer to the above item, piezo contact microphone.

the end point is 1/4 inch female jack.

Does that mean that I have to purchase a 1/4 inch male to 3.5mm male cable in order to record noise from the contact mic on my laptop ?

Yes, you're going to need an adapter to connect that mic to your laptop. You can look at something like this.

thanks for the confirmation.

Actually I intend to use this piezo contact mic to record noise transmitted by any hard smooth surface,

do I just stick the piezo microphone to the surface,
and the laptop will be able to pick up any noise emitted on the hard surface ?
