connecting ps3 to monitor

Hi guys,
I am trying to connect my ps3 with my monitor(samsung s20b300) with hdmi-dvi cable.
But when I turn my display mode to dvi it only shows a black screen.
Please help.

A quick Google search would show there is very common. The ps3 didn't have the option to turn of hdcp for gaming like the ps4 does so its very picky if it works.

You can try holding the power button for about 6 seconds though till it gives a cpl beeps. This resets the video mode.

Yeah I tried that but it did not work for me.
Is there any other way to make it work ?
