So i have an unmanaged switch connected to a router via ethernet cable. And i would like to buy a range extender e.g tp-link re450. Is it possible to run an ethernet cable from my switch to the range extender to receive wifi signal from my range extender?

It does have a LAN port on the side, but you should email TP LInk to be sure.
TP isn't the best company out there, but they will know more than most people on here.

Ah i did and they said yes. I can directly connect them as the instructions given are universal. It mentioned it required router but it reality it can be connected to my switch as it is connected to the router.
Although i have to create a separate ssid and pw as it is an access point. Thanks anyway.

You can use the same ssid and password if you like. This is a personal preference thing. Your end devices are pretty stupid but they do tend to select the strongest signals but they do not do a good job of switching. I use different SSID so I can force a connection where I want but some people do not like to deal with changing where they connect to with their end device all the time.

I like the same SSID that way it swaps without you having to change, just like Bill001g has said.
