Connecting router to another making a problem?

I connected my netgear router to my tp-link router, which made my tp-link router faster. But when I disconnected my tp-link router, my netgear router speeds are the same as when it was connected. Is there a way to make it back to normal with its normal speeds?

Solution

What you did should not have made anything faster, you are probably measuring the speeds wrong. It's like gluing a second car to your roof and saying that the two engines will make your car faster.

What speeds are you measuring and how? Speeds to the internet? Internal network speeds? Do both routes have the same ethernet port speeds? How did you connect them?
