So i got two question.

1) i got an old version of the Corsair RM850 (like 2015 year), with the 3 pci cables needed for no use the daisy chain type of connection. but the cables are "type 3" on other post i saw here or reddit all the people talk about use type 4 or type 5 cables.

2) if a psu got only two pci cables, can use the card with two cables and the third on daisy chain?

thanks.

"Type #" is referring to the version, if you will, of the cable Corsair makes for their modular power supplies. It doesn't really meany anything other than the compatibility of the cable to the power supply.

If the PCIe power cable from the power supply has a so-called "pig-tail", then it's reasonable to assume that it can carry enough wattage to handle the connectors. At least if we're talking about a PSU from a reputable PSU manufacturer.
