I am new to audio systems and had a question about setting up a turntable.

I recently purchased the AUDIO TECHNICA AT-LP60 turntable and I have an old Logitech X-530 70W 5.1Rms Speaker System. I was wondering what the process would be to get the sound from the turntable to play from the speaker system. When I currently attempt to connect the two, the audio is projecting from the turntable at nearly inaudible levels.

Would I need to purchase a pre-amp to connect the two? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank you.

That's the subwoofer of the surround system when all the individual speakers are connected. The two cables coming out of the turntable are a red and white RCA cable. The turntable does have a preamp as it has a phono and line option. Would I need to connect an adapter between the turntable and the turntable?

I think your turntable has phono preamp, so connecting would be matter or finding correct stereo RCA cable, with probably an adapter if X530 does not have RCA but only 3.5mm audio imput.

Your inputs to the x-530 speaker system are on the front right speaker according to the manual. You need to use one of the adaptors that came with the turntable to plug the 3.5mm green plug on that speaker into
