Connection...cable to xbox 1...to monitor.....xbox 1 to speakers............. help needed

trying to decide what i want to do.

I think i should be able to go from att uverse to xbox 1 converter, then to xbox one, then to monitor. that should give me visual.

then from optical out on xbox to speakers...that should give me audio

xbox does not have a built in tv tuner correct?

anyway let me know if I need to buy the xbox converter or if this is even a possible setup. thank you

Hey Shaunzy,

You are correct: Xbox One does not have it's own tuner, it uses IR blasting to control your TV box.

Also, your other path to get video and audio from your console looks to be supported, according to the Xbox Support page:
