Connection drops when watching youtube videos

Hi Guys,

I am stumped on this one! I have had this issue for a long time now but it never really bothered me as it happened quite rarely. It now happens every other video that I watch and it is really annoying.

Sometime the connection will come back on by itself after maybe a minute or 2, but generally I just restart the computer because it is faster.

I must mention that my connection doesn't drop for any other reason. I can game for hours or browse as much as I like, it it literally just Youtube.

I am using a wired connection through powerline adaptors on a 72mbs Fibre connection, PC Specs:

I7 4790k
Asus Maximus Hero VII
16GB DDR3
GTX 980
500gb Samsung evo 850
1TB WD Blue

As for Antivirus, I have Malwarebytes installed. I have tried disabling Malwarebytes and get the same results.

Any clues as to what may be causing this?

Try it with pc connected to router directly. I am sure this inconvenient but is needed to make sure it is the PC and not the powerline adapters.

What is your internet speed? Have you ran a test from speedtest.net?

Do you have browser extensions installed?

I agree with boosted1g, please connect directly to the router to eliminate the possibility of a network device causing a problem.

I have recently changed my powerline adapters from the TP Link AV200 to the AV500 gigabit and have had the problem throughout so I don't think it is them!

The only extension I am running is adblock.

Edit: I have Hola! VPN installed to but it is disabled

Didn't work! Took a few videos for it to disconnect but it did in the end
