Right... so for the upcoming buying season of the Conroe/Core 2 Duo series... I was thinking a list should be made, seperated mainly be chipset (965, 975 Revised, and Others like ATI, etc). For the 975 list, it would strictly include motherboards that are going to be revised, not the manual soldering .
After we get a decent list going, I'll throw up a poll (probably somewhere around July 16-18th) with all the motherboards posted, so that we can get a general consensus about which mobo is the most popular among the forums, along with standings.
I'll need 1st-party company site link for stats on submitted motherboard, and generally I can just use the THG pricesearch to list prices on various sites for said mobo. I'm also now accepting up to Third Party Sources per motherboard, accepted in chronological order in which they were posted. That's generally the max.
Furthermore, as the days get rolling towards launch, I'd like people to keep an eye out on what enters consumer markets (even as reserved), so that I can update quickly, as only motherboards that are -in- the consumer market will be considered for most of the first polls.
The format that will be posted on my list will be the following:
Motherboard Name
Chipset (For everything after Intel 975)
Case Standard
Motherboard 1st Party Site Link
Motherboard Pricing via THG Stores
Third Party Source
Post Linkies away, and I'll update this list daily... feel free to debate and melt eachother into flaming guano statues of smelly doom also over which mobo is better, just at least ATTEMPT to keep it civil
====================Update====================
Update 7/11/06: Thanks to poster, found this great link to this list made by this cool guy named Skyline GT-R. His list, found -HERE-, is the basis for this list being made, unless someone adds more mobos to the list. I'll be still adding pricing searches via Toms Hardware, and we'll run the poll somewhere around July 14th-16th, after the NDAs are up, and we're all much more informed on whats good and what isn't. Top contenders will be posted with special mentions.
Update 7/11/06 (Later): Finished incorporating lists, also decided to have the polls begin on July 20th, because I realize it will take longer for the NDA-released info to spread, and marketing campaigns to ensue. That would give us a four-day window for polling on predicted launch successes of boards.
