Question Considering upgrading rig or just 8th gen CPU

Hi,
I currently run ASROCK Z370M pro4 with an i3-8100. This solution is OK.
I have been looking for an upgrade as new motherboards support PCIe gen 4, wifi ax and sometimes ethernet 2.5. (ASROCK Z590M-ITX could be a solution)
Unfortunately I seek a CPU with max TDP @ 65W or less, and those I have found are not much faster than my i3-8100.
Then again, I could change my "old" CPU for a 9th gen and a quiet/efficient cooling solution.
Could be less expensive, but i would like to build a mITX SFF rig.

Any good advice?

Intel CPUs have unlocked power limits that can be easily adjusted in the BIOS or by using ThrottleStop. You can adjust the power limits to whatever values you like. You can buy a CPU that has a 125W TDP rating and you can use ThrottleStop to change it into a 65W CPU.

Here is an example of a 125W 10850K. When running a full load stress test, it automatically slows down so it does not exceed 65W. The Power Limit Control section of ThrottleStop gives you full control of your CPU. You can easily match CPU power consumption to how much cooling you have available.
