I've got a pretty decent 4-yo HP Envy 360. Over the past month, it's been blue-screening and rebooting. Event log suggests an issue with Processor Core 0.
I'm hoping to avoid scrapping this laptop (paid about $900 during Covid).
I would like to disable the bad core. But HP BIOS and Windows do not appear to be able to accommodate.
Is there any hope for this? Would switching to Linux allow me to disable that core?
Is there a "hidden" BIOS hack to disable the core, or a 3rd party app?

Thanks for any suggestions.

BIOS in prebuilts and laptops are pretty basic/limited in terms of feature sets or tinkering, so your intention to disable a core isn't possible. If you could write your own BIOS microcode that would be another thing but I'm sure you're not adept at it(no offence meant).

Is there any hope for this?
You seem to fixated on the core, have you thought about reinstalling the OS in offline mode, then manually installing all drivers with the latest revisions in an elevated command?

No.

HP have a number of Envy 360's in their portfolio, which one do you have? The SKU would help us two fold. Using CPU-Z, see what your laptop's motherboard BIOS version is.
