Constant DNS Disconnection

Last few days I keep getting this error when I'm on my computer: DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN

and It's driving me insane as it's constantly doing off every 5 minutes and I have to reset my ip through command prompt to get it working again.

I've looked up a few solutions on the internet, but it's still doing it, and I would love a permanent fix for this as I've tried pretty much everything I know of so far.

I'd rather not as they are extremely unhelpful and would rather I pay more money to them to get anything done. The sad thing is that they are the only ISP that will do internet at my location so I'm stuck with them...

I'd rather have a go at fixing it myself before I even try to contact them right now.

Hmm, I found that as a solution and it seems to have delayed it, so I'll probably see if it does it again(hopefully it doesn't) and see if that changes anything.

In that case, the above answer will probably resolve your problem.

It's an ISP Issue
Are you using their(ISP's) DNS? Use a Google Public DNS.
If you still have issues, then it's a connection(ISP) error. If you don't have any more issues, then it is still a ISP - DNS server issue.

Hmm, It's neither. Turns out someone attached a virus to one of my other computers that I use for a backup server and it was a tricky ah heck to find. I've solved the solution and tightened my security on it
