Question Constant GPU usage spikes while watching Youtube in Firefox browser ?

I have a laptop with an RTX 2070 and 16 GB of RAM.
I recently-ish swapped to Firefox for reasons and now I've been noticing unreasonable GPU usage spikes while watching Youtube, which makes everything (gaming and browsing) extremely laggy.
This does not happen on any other browser, or using any other video service.
Is there some kind of fix for this?

Check to see if hardware acceleration is disabled.
