continuous 99% disk usage wtf is this heelpp!!

my asus laptop with windows 8.1 continuously showing 99% disk usage even tho im not using any program. it even took 15-20 minutes to reach the desktop. the welcome screen took so long.can anyone help mee please

first you can use a program like WinDirStat to see where all this space is used.

Then depends on that, you can delete this file/files and understand which program create them.
If you want post here the path of the file/files.

Open Resource Monitor and see what application is using the HDD the most. This will be under the Disk tab Processes with Disk Activity. Sort the Total column to see what has the highest use. Post that here.

press ctrl+alt+del once at the desktop check cpu usage for programs using really high cpu usage

and disk usage for programs/services using very high disk usage

it is currently working fine. i dont understand. i will provide a screenshot when the problem comes back. i was stressed for 2 days and suddenly it is gone lol

Did you make any changes in Windows Media Player or move music files around. I've seen WMP churn away cataloging a music library if you copy it somewhere else or copy a bunch of new music to your music folder.

thanks for your attentions lol. it is currently working fine. i didnt do anything tho. pretty sure this problem would come back and i will provide screenshot of the task maanger and resource monitor when it does

it may have been due to windows installing updates

sometimes after it updates it does that
