Conversion from sata to hybride drive

I recently bought and installed a Hybride HD in my HP EliteBook 8540W to eliminate the slow performance of the 5400 rpm sata drive it came with. My new drive is the seagate momentus xt 750 7200 rpm sata gb/s 32 mb cache. I installed it with a fresh copy of windows 7 pro and the system is running faster but seems to hang on boot up I assume it is from a setting i need to change in the bios Or possibly I need to configure this as a raid drive (split the 750 in half make two drives of this and reimage as a raid) Can you help with this issue as I prefer not to reimage again if not needed.

you actually need two or more physical drives to make a raid; not partitions.

Make sure your bios is set in ahci for the sata type. If its not don't just change it as your pc won't boot.

Run the FIX IT NOW from MS. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/922976

and then change it in the bios.
