Hello.
Recently I tried to install Windows 10 from a CD on my fresh Lenovo 70-70 but in order to do that I have to convert my MBR disc to GPT. At some point, you have to press shift and f10 a command prompt will pop up, but for some reason nothing happens and I am unable to progress. Am I doing something wrong, or is the laptop at fault or another bug from Windows 10?

When you install windows 10 keeping click next until you get to the point where you have to select what drive to install it to THEN hit Shift+F10 and then do this.

Type each line then hit enter

diskpart
list disk
select disk 0
clean
convert gpt
exit

Now if you boot the DVD as a UEFI Boot then you don't need to do any of that. Also if your Laptop DOESN'T support UEFI Boot you CAN NOT install windows to a GPT partition as a UEFI BIOS is required to boot from a GPT Disk

Also installing to GPT is only really needed for one of two reasons.

1) The drive you are installing to is bigger than 2TB which it is a laptop which unless you're supports dual hard drives and you have 2 2TB in a RAID 0 you don't need it or
2) You need to use Secure Boot for whatever reason.

otherwise you don't need to do any of that really unless you just want it to be UEFI. It doesn't have to be.

Have you make sure what type of your motherboard. Because BIOS just can support MBR, and if you want to convert GPT, your motherboard must be UEFI. If you do not need 2tb disk capacities nor more than 4 partitions, you do not need to convert to GPT.
