Cooler doesn't fit

I just bought a hyper 212 Evo for my 1150 socket board. But the lathes for the cooler can't reach the motherboard

If I remember correctly it takes a bit of pressure to get the other side of the cooler in.

I tried forcing it down, it just bounced back up out of the socket

Try screwing in one corner at least a few full rotations then the opposite corner with a bit of force. You may need someone to help you hold down the cooler/pins as I remembered having some trouble when I installed one in my previous build and had to have a friend stop by.

Thank you guys for your responses. The problem turned out to be that with my specific socket, you need to put rubber fittings on the screws for them to fit properly. The manual is just trash
