Cooler master rbg black edition 212 not screwing into the MB. I can get two screws Down . ( Top right & bottom left). But not the top left and bottom right.

I’m losing my sanity. I’ve had to re apply & wipe away and re apply thermal paste 200 times.

I push as hard as I can without breaking the damn motherboard. Been at it for 3 hours. I don’t get it.

I’ve looked up videos. Made sure the back plate screws are in the right position.
Idk anymore it shouldn’t be this hard

Update!- so I was able to get it on. It’s was a combination of everyone’s suggestions & a post I seen where someone suggests moving the actual screws in the bracket that goes to the cooler. Still nervous it’s going to decide to pop itself out, after the 300 times it popped out once I had two or 3 screws in. Here’s to hoping it stays nice and secure!

Again thanks for the suggestions, every single one helped out.

Solution
try loosening the hex spacers then line them up then re tighten the hex spacers after you have got them lined up, when you first tighten the first 2 screws just go a couple of turns if not just one turn, if any of the screws go in at an angle you are cross threading them. also take the springs out and squeeze it a few times with your fingers to try to loosen it up brand new springs can be a little strong at first. in fact try that first.

one more thing is read over your instructions and make sure you are using the right washers if you have any spare plastic washers they might raise the the hex spacers like 1 or 2 mm and make it fit better, there might me slightly different thinkness washers for intel than AMD

tip don't lose your...

So when you screw in the 2 screws, are you screwing the screws all the way down, or are you just starting them a couple of threads.

If you are screwing them all the way, that's the problem. You need to only get a couple threads down on all the screws then work in an X pattern, tightening each one just a little at a time.

At first I was definitely doing one too much. Then tried to to little by little and I was able to get 2 in but just couldn’t get the either of last two to go down. I’m not even sure if I have the mount screw in the right spot anymore.

edit- tried again got top left in some then went to bottom right , buts it’s too high . Unscrew top left a TINY bit and it pops out

Update - took the entire build apart. Took the metal brackets off the cooler and lined up the bracket with the holes.

Bottom right screw is always too far above the hole . The other three can be screwed in but this one is always too far.

I don’t know what to do man. Spent all this money on a new pc. For this to happen because amd stock coolers are junk. Gonna try and get some sleep and figure it out in the morning.
