[citation][nom]pennanen[/nom]Let me guess, you like apple products?[/citation]
You don't? I'm an AmigaOS-, Windows-, MacOS and BeOS-guy. You guys who hate on Apple are so close-minded and backwards.

CM generally make good products, but this is crap. Looks like nearly every other ITX case available. Anyone heard of the Bitfenix Prodigy? If not, google it, because it's absolutely amazing, HUGE step forward in the ITX department. Of course, that's more of a gaming case, if you want an ITX HTPC, traditional design is the way to go, but Silverstone all the way. Almost nothing can compare to the look of a Silverstone HTPC.

[citation][nom]killerclick[/nom]Coolermaster are crap. They're the McDonalds of cases/cooling. A couple of their high-end cases are good (and they better be considering how much they cost), but everything else is mediocre at best. They invest too much in advertising and not nearly enough in product quality.[/citation]
There are makers that produce cheaper cases than even CMs cheapest case.. Would that make them like a road side taco stand?

[citation][nom]molo9000[/nom]Do you have a HTPC? Nothing more annoying than fan noise when watching a good movie. Even a loud hard drive can be a pain.Noise is also a problem when gaming, since you won't be using headphones when gaming on a HTPC.I actually do have a 3-4year old Mac mini as my HTPC / PLEX server, which back then was actually decent value for money. Guess what: It's dead silent even under high load (decoding high bitrate video while running a small Minecraft server at the same time)btw: For people who just want video and music playback, it's better to buy a cheap set-top-box for $50-$100 instead of a full grown HTPC. Spend the money saved on a NAS server with a good processor and the right OS so that it can run a XBMC/PLEX server[/citation]

i do, and if you can afford to do this set up you can also afford to have a theater cabinet and invest in some sound proofing or taking some cheap carpet and stapling it onto the walls so you don't hear ANYTHING and you have a nice place to store all your dvd's and sd cards.

stop being cheap. even my desk has an under cabinet PC locker if you're going to be snobbish about ' noise' also replace the stock fans with quality fans for a few dollars more helps tons if you're going to be cheap. it's only $9 per fan if you know anything about fans and how to shop. throw in a few manly skills in how to cut holes and attach vent covers and furnace filters and you can make it high end.

if i hear any complaint about saw dust or replacing filter hire a maid &/or a handy man or learn how to use a vacuum.

it's not like you have to do what i am doing now in taking a millenium falcon and modifying it to be a case for pure aesthetics and as for it's noise
Han Solo: ...You've never heard of the Millennium Falcon? It's the ship that made the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs. I've outrun Imperial starships. Not the local bulk cruisers mind you, I'm talking about the big Corellian ships now. She's fast enough for you old man.

I have never really found the appeal in Cooler Master cases. Not saying they are crap just for me the looks are not there. But hey if every body liked all the same things it would be a very boring world indeed.

maybe i'm special but I've not had a problem with my small CoolerMaster miniITX Elite 120' cases (qty 2). I use the largest fans I can stuff inside, and have run a sealed water cooler on the outside of the case via an access hole I Dremeled through the sheet metal to free up more room inside... is that cheating? maybe so but it works fine.
given the venue to gripe here i'd like to say we custom PC makers need power supply makers to produce more flexible modular cables. and make them longer too... often messing with and expletives with short stiff cables get them built causes ME to overheat more than any component.; ingenious fan and cooler options included.
that's the biggest gripe I have.
overall CoolerMaster rocks.
they're good people in my book.
