Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO RAM Clearance

Hello everyone, I was wanting to know if anyone could tell me if there would be any clearance issues with the Cooler Mater Hyper 212 EVO and the new RAM I plan on buying for an upcoming build. The RAM is G.Skill Ripjaws V 2800 linked here. I will also be using the ASUS Z170-A Motherboard linked here and the Fractal Define S linked here if it helps. Thanks in advance!

I cant speak for certain, but if you buy the Cryorig H7 you will get a shorter, easier to install, and better performing cooler than the EVO that also, most importantly for you, supports unlimited ram clearance.

Yep you're going to run in to an issue with the RAM slot closest to the CPU. The Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo has a RAM clearance of 37mm, the RAM you have picked out has a height of 42mm. You have two options, 1) raise the fan up a few mm when you fill that RAM slot (which you wont need to do with only 2 slots filled), or 2) get a CPU cooler that doesn't overlap any channels. I'd recommend going with option 2. The Cryorig M9i is on par with the Hyper 212 Evo, but has a better mounting system and doesn't overhang the RAM slots. The Cryorig H7 or H5 universal would be good steps up from there if you want to play with overclocking or if you need more cooling for the CPU in general.

Either will be fine, the case is plenty wide enpough and the Fan(s) are height adjustable, with thecase being 9" wide there is plenty room to raise the fan if needed and there will be no ill affects to the cooling, the Evo can easily run even Trident X under them.

Cryorig's H7 is another good choice, I keep both in the shop and have used both on all my rigs, with fairly close results, to me they are sort of a tossup

Appreciate the tip. However, I already own the Hyper 212 and I'd be transferring it to the new rig more than likely. I was also looking at some LPX modules from Corsair, are those low enough? I may upgrade to 32GB eventually (several years from now) so I'd like to plan ahead and get LPX now rather than buy a new kit.

LPX has a height of 31mm so there won't need to be any adjustment to the fan. Keep in mind the fan on the Hyper Evo only has to be adjusted a few mm to fit the G.Skill RAM so its really not a big deal to do it. So go with whichever memory you prefer.

Cryorig H7 cools better than the 212 with no worry of memory interference.

And the Cryorig is easier to install.
