I doubt this computer is meant to be attached to a motherboard. It's probably just sold as a standalone, and the "heat sink" is just an interesting case.

In the next phase of our evolutionary march, the mini itx mobo would be removed and its component distributed across the cooling fins of the heat sink itself; thereby further enabling us to achieve our goal to blur the line between a heatsink and a computer. The final phase, will see the fan removed altogether and the heat-sink's fins themselves rotated; thus giving you the ultimate - the rotating, whizzzing ball of a computer!

Looks nice, but I am little disappointed, unless it is meant as a stand-alone PC. The mini-ITX board blocks the airflow going through the heatsink.

COMPCEPTION - a computer within a computer within a computer within a computer +∞

wait, if it was actually used as a heatsink, wouldnt the heat that the fins collect from te larger CPU on the computer it is actually mounted ON make the heatsink fins hot, in turn making the inner computer components inside the heatsink get really really hot from all the fins touching it? it would be like a computer oven for the components inside the heatsink itself. horrible idea or am i slinging confused bull$h1t?

Sure, it may be a little impractical to have a computer inside of your computer, and gaining access to this thing while it's inside your computer might prove difficult, but on the other hand, why not?

why not put it in my trucks dashboard where my radio is? get a high powered set up of Tesla's model S tablet going on that i can throw in a dvd player in place of my cd player and send video to all the passengers in every seat of a car or mini van so they can watch a movie or have a fold down 20"-27" screen drop out of the ceiling.
it's not so much a question of why do it as it is how and where and for what can this kind of tech be applied.
