Hey guys, i'm having issues with my computer and i suspect is my thermaltake tr2 600w psu (4 years old), so i'm considering a replacement.
This are the best ones i can buy for my price range in my country, so there are no other options i can pick (the dollar is to expensive right now to get something from amazon), so first my specs:
Motherboard: Gigabyte (GA-970A-D3)
CPU: Phenom II x6 1090t
Ram (4 sticks) ddr3
- 4gb Pny xlr8 (1 stick)
- 24gb Crucial ballistix sport vlp (3 x 8gb stick)
Video card; Sapphire radeon r7 240
Hard drive: Seagate Barracuda 1tb (Im not sure about this one but i think is not relevant)
SSD: samsung 830 120gb
OS: Windows 8.1
PSU: Thermaltake Tr2 600W
I'm planning on getting in the near future a gtx 960ti, adding liquid cooling (not sure which system yet) and overclocking that phenom.
I'm not much of a gamer, i might play modern games from time to time, but mostly this is my working system (i'm a designer & programmer), so i use graphics, programming and 3d software all the time.
So my main concern is reliability, i don't want my computer failing anytime soon.
Note, ill put the prices in USD for reference, but for us in Colombia, 1 dollar difference is pretty much like if it were 3 dollars difference, so 10 usd in practice is like 30 usd.
Here are the contenders:
Cooler Master V650 gold
Price including shipping: around 110 USD in COP
Pros:
- Gold efficiency
- 5 years warranty (With the seller)
- Semi Modular
- Tier 2
Neutral:
- 650W
Cons:
- Really expensive for my budget
- I'm not fan of how it looks
Evga Supernova 750b (bronce) (nex 750b)
I think this nex750B model is the same as the B1
Price including shipping: around 97 USD
Pros:
- 750 Watts
- Semi Modular
- Looks nice
Neutral:
- 1 year warranty (with the seller) + what evga gives
Cons:
- Cheaper than the cooler master
- Not tiered?
Corsair Cx600
Price including shipping: around 90 USD
Pros:
- Semi Modular
- Looks nice
Cons:
- 600 W
- 6 months warranty (with the seller) + what corsair gives
- tier 4
- Cheaper than the rest
So like i said before i want a reliable unit, that won't blow up, last a lot of years, decent price, and also that is as quiet as possible, all that tells me to go for the coolermaster, but since its the more expensive of the lot, i'll ask the experts... you guys
Thanks in advance for any advice
