Question Coolermaster Hyper 212 RGB Cooler on AM5?

I bought this CPU cooler last year for my Ryzen 9 5900X. I am now upgrading to a AM5 Ryzen 9 7950X. I have heard AM4 coolers work on AM5, but is the bracket the same? Also what TDP is the 212 rated to? I know it's not the best cooler out there for the 7950X, but I don't really want to go liquid cooled either. Can I get away using the old cooler?

Ok I just saw a thread saying it may only be good for up to 150w. Is there an air cooled version good enough for the 7950X or is liquid cooled my only option at this point? What cooler would you guys recommend?

Would the Noctua NH-D15 air cooler be a good choice? It mentions the 7950X in the info.

My 7950X works great with my Noctua Noctua NH-D15. The Hyper 212 would be insufficient.

Yes, you just use the AM4 mounting hardware with the AM5 motherboard.

Is there any clearance issues with the motherboard on this cooler? It's going on a Gigabyte AX Elite board.

I have same motherboard. You just adjust the fan's position on the side where your memory is to accommodate the height of the memory. Too easy.
