I recently bought a coolermaster ml240, it was working fine and I was testing different fan speeds in my rtx 2070 super to get better performance then while my computer was in idle it’s just stopped working the rgb lights work and also tried other fans in its place, is this a faulty cooler or is there a way to fix it I’m also a new pc builder. Thanks for the help in advance

No, you do not need the Cooler Master software utility for the ML240 system FANS. The design is to have the PUMP unit fed from a mobo header that can provide a steady full 12 VDC power supply so the pump runs full speed all the time. Then the two RAD FANS are connected using a Splitter supplied to another mobo fan header that controls the fan speeds according to the temperature sensor inside the CPU chip, using the mobo's fan control routines. Connections of the fan lights is a separate issue we need not discuss here.

Tell us the maker and exact model number of your mobo. Also tell us to WHICH mobo fan headers you have connected the PUMP and the RAD FANS. Then CHECK that connection for the fans. The fact that you indicate BOTH fans have stopped working says there is something wrong with that connection or with the settings of the header they use. Having TWO fans fail at exactly the same time is RARE.

With that info we can look up details about the mobo fan headers and advise further.

One other check you can do. For each of the rad fans, disconnect it from its Splitter and plug it into another mobo fan header that you know works. That will test the fan for failure. Then re-connect it back the way it should be.

I had them in cpu_fan,cpu_opt
And they were working idk if that is the right place for them but they did work and just stopped and I also took the fans off the cooler and tried them in the MoBo of the same spot the fans I have on the case that are working and tried them and they did not spin so idk how they both get messed up but my bios does recognize my aio when i put in the aio pump plug on the board idk if that info helps with my problem

If I understand, the PUMP appears to work properly. When it is plugged into the mobo AIO PUMP header it seems to work, and that header does show a proper speed reading for the pump. Right? So, it works.

Now, although the system comes with a Splitter to allow you to connect BOTH rad fans to a single mobo header, you did not do that. Instead you plugged them separately into the CPU_FAN and CPU_OPT headers. That certainly should work OK, but BOTH fans do not turn. Further, If I read this right, if you move either of those fan's connectors to another mobo fan header you know is OK, that fan still does not work. Just as a final note, if you do the reverse test - plug a good fan into the CPU_FAN or CPU_OPT header - they work. Right? That would prove that the headers are OK, and the fans have failed.

If I got all that right, then you certainly do have two bad fans. You should contact the maker for replacements under Warranty.
