Hey guys, i just bought an Asus R9 290 Direct CU II and i read that an PSU with 600W it's ok to run this monster... now i was about to install the GPU but someone told me that is dangerous because my PSU cant handle it... my question is: Is ok to install the GPU ? nothing wrong will happen?

Im upgrading my system by parts and i started with the gpu because the drop prices but here it is:

Motherboard: ECS 780GM-A Black Series
RAM: 4Gb ddr2
CPU: AMD BE Athlon II 7750 2.7 Ghz
HDD: Seagate 1TB
PSU: Cooler Master RS-600-PCAR-E3

Thanks in advance

Solution
A Radeon R9-290 needs 31 amps on the 12v rail and a 550 watt power supply.

The Cooler Master RS-600-PCAR-E3 has 2 - 18 amp rails and is sufficient power to run a R9 290.

r9 290 needs only a 500w. You are good to go just try buy a seasonic one......but i am afraid that your cpu may bottleneck your gpus performance...

Thanks a lot to all of you, so ill give a try till i get the money for a new decent PSU... hope not for too long.

Any ideas of wich one should i buy? not too expensive?

my next uprade its an MotherBoard Asus Crosshair Formula Z and a AMD FX 8350 with 16 gb ram
