Cooling for overclocked FX-6300

Hello,

I'm planning to overclock my FX-6300 in the near future. I have read online that the stock cooler does not suffice for OC, so I picked these two:

Cooler Master Hyper 212+ Evo (air)

Cooler Master Seidon 120V v. 2

I have a couple of questions:

Which one of these two will perform better for my CPU?
Is it worth getting the single rad water cooler or should I go for air cooling if I can't afford a dual rad?
Will the Seidon watercooler be quieter than the Evo air cooler? I read online that water coolers are supposed to make your PC run quieter.

The seidon cools slightly better - the evo is IMO quieter.

In all honesty they're both overkill for over clocking a 6300.

What county are you ??
There are plenty other options.

Thanks for reminding me that there's other options 😀 I'm from Slovakia so here are a few other options:
GELID Solutions Tranquilo
NOCTUA NH-U9B SE2
Other air coolers from the CM Hyper series
Other air coolers are quite expensive (over 50€)

There is also one more water cooling option, the Corsair H80i.

The tranquilo is a solid cooler mate (if its the v2) & I would imagine is cheaper than the 212 evo??

It is cheaper. I'm not sure which version this is though.

It is a Czech site so the english translation is a bit poor. If it's the first version then I think I'll just go with one of the CM Hyper series. According to the site, the Tranquillo is the most sold one.

Its the v2 ,it has 2 more heatpipes than the v1 (+ the v1 was Intel only)

Will do a fine job with a 6300 - as obviously will the evo.

Id stick to air if you have a decent case & airflow personally

I would get the 212 EVO. It's not very expensive and it works great! I was able to bump my FX-8350 to 4.5 Ghz. You can probably do higher than that on the 212, but my airflow in my PC isn't the best.
